FAQs

Do I need any dance experience?
Not at all. Every class is beginner-friendly, and we teach all the steps on the night.

Do I need to book?
No bookings needed. Just turn up and pay $5 cash on arrival (or grab a concession card to get a discount if you plan on coming regularly)

What if I miss a week?
No problem at all. You can come along any week that suits you, and you won’t fall behind. Each class is a mix of new and familiar routines, so it’s easy to join in at any time.

What should I wear?
Anything comfortable that you can move in. Most people wear sneakers or comfortable walking shoes, but feel free to wear cowboy boots if you wish!

How long is the class?
Each session runs for one hour.

How do I pay?
Cash is easiest for most people. However, if you don’t have cash on you, online bank transfer is always an option! (We can give you the bank details on the night)

What kind of music do you dance to?
A fun mix of songs from country to pop, with a range of old favourites and modern hits. We’re always up for suggestions, so if you have any in mind add them to our playlist!

What does the class consist of?
We usually start with a simple routine to warm up. The moves are taught slowly without music first, then once everyone feels comfortable, we try it with the music. As the class goes on, the routines become slightly more complex (but still beginner-friendly), then we make sure to finish the session with an easy, feel-good dance.

Routines are mixed up each week. Some will feel familiar for regulars, but new ones are always added so things stay fresh and fun. Every routine is always taught from the beginning, so if it’s your first time coming along, you won’t feel lost or left behind.

Where is the Dance Collective Manawatu studio?
See the location details above.

Concession Card

If you plan to come regularly, you can grab a Concession Card for $45 which covers 10 classes, so you get one class free compared to paying casually.
Bring your card each time you come along and we’ll clip it on the night.

Concession cards can be purchased at class and used for any of the regular line dancing sessions. They don’t expire, so you can use them at your own pace.
